Elder Nobs

Shadowclan was founded by its Elders, the oldest and wisest orcs of the Clan. The Elders are respected and obeyed due to their ability to converse directly with the Wargod.  While not always known for their physical prowess (they are usually past their prime), they are respected and revered by all orcs of the Clan.  They do not claim allegiance to any Tribe, but instead work for the good of the Clan as a whole.  The workings of the Elders are strange and mysterious.

Nobs

Nobs are the leaders of the Tribes. It is a great honor and responsiblity to be appointed a Nob. Nobs may only be nominated by other Nobs and must be approved by the Clan Elders and the Leadership Council. This is the highest position an orc may obtain within a Tribe.  Nobs enforce clan policy.   Nobs can promote tribeless grunts into their tribe. You can identify a nob by their sash which is their tribe's color.   Nobs are to be treated with respect.

Warboss

The Warboss of Shadowclan is the leader of the clan.  The Warboss gives orders, and all orcs obey!  The Warboss wears a cape and sash with his tribe colors, as well as bone arms, legs and hands.  All Orcs should speak in dialect of Warboss' tribe (i.e. change your speechcolor to match the color of the Warboss's tribe). The Warboss is responsible for keeping the clan strong and safe.

Bludline Leader

Each of the bludlines has a leader responsible for the rankings of the bludline.   Each bludline leader embodies the Urucku of that bludline.  You can identify bludline leaders easily because they wear bone arms, but not bone hands.   Bludline leaders are often second in command to the warboss in warfare situations.  They are also responsible for the gruntees and tribeless in their bludline.

Clan Mojoka

The Clan Mojoka is not in any chain of command.  Often an advisor to the clan leadership, sometimes a manipulator, the Clan Mojoka can, like the elders, hear the wargod's will and attempts to appease the wargod, we hope.

Guard

The warboss has up to two bodyguards (those orcs which were at his or her side during the warboss competition) and each nob may have up to one bodyguard.  You can identify bodyguards by their bone leg armor.  Fort guards are chosen by the blud ligz-r.  Bodyguards will defend those they guard at all costs.

Tribed Grunt

After an orc has been a gruntee and tribeless grunt, the orc often joins a tribe of likeminded orcs.  It is an honor to finally join a tribe after many moons of proving yourself worthy to the tribe's nobs, but it is also additional responsibility.

Tribeless Grunt

One step above gruntee, one step below a tribed grunt.  Tribeless grunts are grunts that are not members of any tribe.

Gruntee

All orcs start out as Gruntees. These are the low orcs on the totem pole.

Blud Ranks

Each bloodline has a set of bludranks that mark how far an orc has advanced in displaying the bloodline's urucku. These ranks from lowest to highest are Gu, Ug, Wa, Blud.  The Blud ranked orc is the epitome of the urucku.  He or she determines the ranks of the other orcs in the bludline.

Clomp Ranks

Each bloodline has its own clomprank system.  Rank is denoted by differently colored ringmail gloves.  To advance to a higher rank, you must defeat a higher ranked orc in ritual combat, at which point you both switch gloves.  The ranks from lowest to highest are Silver, Gold, and Black.  One challenge is allowed per week and your bloodline leader must be contacted after each match.

How to Advance

Be a good orc.  Learn about basic Shadowclan rules and roleplay.  Talk to your bloodline leaders about how to get to the next step.  Each bloodline leader has different requirements for promotion to grunt.
