Creating your New Gruntee
You must create a new orc character to join Shadowclan.

First decide on a Bloodline and a Name for your orc character.

Pick a name you like, but make sure it has no meaning to humans.
"Whutz Uhp" is not a good orcish name. "Frolg'gluh" is a good orcish name.

Do not use ALL CAPS.  Do use proper punctuation. "UruK HAI" is bad.  "Uruk'Hai" is good.

Multi-syllable names should use an apostrophe ('), or be one word.  (Ie:  Uruk'Hai or Urukhai)

Multi-word names are not acceptable. (Ie:  Uruk Hai)

Dashes (-) may not be used in names. (Ie: Uruk-Hai)

If you duplicate a name that is already in Shadowclan, you will have to make a new character, so check to see if your name exists by doing a Member Name search here and here.  It is also in your best interest to avoid names used by Shadowclan members in the past to prevent confusion.  Because over 2000 orcs have entered the Shadowclan fort, this can be a difficult task. Make your name complex and original.  Use apostrophes and multiple syllables.

+ Mak-Rs have a lot of variation in skill selection depending on their specialty
** Need permission of clan leaders to make this type of character, total numbers are limited.

Some skills are restricted.  Magery and Necromancy can only be used by Mojoka.  Alchemy can only be used by Kult-R, Mak-R, and Mojoka.  Chivalry is not permitted for any orcs.  Usage of skills other than listed above (Ie: Taming, Lockpicking, Cartography, Stealing, Arms lore, etc.) require permission from your Bludline leader or nob.  All standard bludline orcs may use the Anatomy, Healing, Tactics, Wrestling, Focus, and Magic Resistance skills.

Barding skills (musicianship, provoke, peacemaking, discordance) are restricted to members of the Mak-r and Mojoka blood lines. Permission from the Big Mak-r or Blood Mojoka is required in order to begin learning these skills. The only acceptable instrument is the drums.  Characters belonging to other blood lines may use drums for roleplaying purposes, but to do so they must first lock all their barding skills at zero.

Once in game, head to the South of Yew to the Orc Fort, shown here.  Once you reach the orc fort look for a tribeless or tribed orc and ask for a test. Tribeless orcs wear brown boots, and tribed orcs wear non-black boots. Gruntees wear regular black thigh boots and can’t give tests. You will be given a short verbal test on knowledge that can be found on this website. You will be asked basic questions concerning tribes, bloodlines, rules, and equipment. 100% knowledge isn’t required, but you should be able to demonstrate that you roughly understand what the clan is about and how it works.

After completing the test the orc who tested you will take care of getting you recruited onto the stone. It may take a day or so for you to actually get accepted into the guild depending on the availability of the stone controller. None of this requires you to do anything outside of game such as ICQ stone controllers or guild leaders. The entire process occurs in game.

Committed characters - While we have open membership, we expect characters in Shadowclan to join when their character is created and for that character to stay in Shadowclan. This promotes sharing and cooperation between members as they know that aiding their fellow members will be aiding Shadowclan. Traitors to Shadowclan are treated very poorly. This applies only to the character, not the player. You can join other guilds with non-Shadowclan characters.
