Howdy,

I am a old shadowbane player and have always been interested in the Irekei Language and shadowclan.

My friend and I are programmers/3d modelers and we decided we wanted to make a game. Upon deciding the plot and the enemies we wanted the enemies to have their own language and name for themselves.

I was wondering if we could use this language in our game and adapt it to the our plot line.

Thanks!
Robert

Permission to use the language would have to come from Ubisoft since it's their game now and our lang is based on the game's lore (language created by devs). We just modified it. I highly recommend trying to develop your own language that sounds right for the type of enemy you have or else your enemies just won't "sound right". Like how an orc wouldn't sound right speaking Elvish.

Plus, the original irekei language was based from Tolkien's high elven language. I forget the name of the guy, but he was in Covenant of Swords in the Treachery server as one of the leaders.

Hope that helps.

Gradishar was the original language guy for Irekei. I see nothing of Quenya in it (unless there are grammar similarities). Unless you mean the Elvish language that the fruity elves in SB used; Then yes, most of that was lifted from Tolkien.

Well I just said what Gradishar told me. Then again, he was from CA.

Ah CA, the land of fruits and nuts. I wonder which old Gradishar was.

Before I found the clan I was the resident linguist and loremaster of Nkurakar'akt (a pre-launch RP Vir'akt) that planned to use Grad's original language and some of Meridian's lore views full on. But delay after delay broke us up. Luckily I found the clan.

What's wrong with us Californians?

And for the record, I am not fruity. However, there is a Bicycle handlebar sticking out of my pants zipper.

If ye don't know, it's driving me nuts. Laughing
