Thinking about using this build as my main set up at 40:

And this if I wanted to go savage:

I'd love to hear any input on the Savage build. I am currently going all Wrecka atm, and most seem to be doing the same or going with the big hitta with the 2-handers.

Da' Savage path looks like its more complex than the other two and mainly a single-target focused build. I imagine that it's one of those paths that probably isn't worth speccing into until level 30+

Savage looks more a utility single damage spec, hitta being the rage exhaust 2h spec, and wrecka the dual wield AE spec.

Wrecka is probably the most popular spec, due to the shear amount of AE, and it really seems like AE abilities really seem to be the way to go.

But, if the damage just is not that great that I envision, savage would be the next choice, due to me being able to throw in a multitude of healing stuff

My wrecka is currently struggling with AP management after the initial flurry of AE swings. I need to look at the skills that give me more AP.

I've also found that it's easy to run out of Action Points on the Choppa. Also, survivability is horrible. No wonder melee DPS classes are so uncommon. I'm thinking about focusing on wounds and toughness just to be able to survive a little longer. At the moment, it's rare for me to live long enough to build up enough morale for a level 1 morale ability.

I've also noticed that it's very easy to quickly gain rage. If you don't want that 50% defense reduction, you have to be on your toes with the rage-expending abilities.

Armor for a choppa seems kinda redundant. Investing nicely into toughness seems to be the way to go for defense. When it comes to T4 RvR, the RvR gear I'd believe the best to bring would be Toughness > Wounds > Strength > Initiative > Wisdom > Balistic = Inteligence

i havent looked into much of the choppa skills but in t4/scenerio i have seen a few lvl 35+ doing self heal = to what a BO could self heal pre 1.2 (unless its from a DOK covent) what is the skill that self heals...

also i have read that choppas have a pull similar to the marudur... that alone is an awsome skill and should be looked into.

I use a career tactic that ticks a self-heal as long as I am furious or berserk.

It's "Get to da Choppa", where for 6 secs, the choppa stands and swings wildly, damaging anyone 20ft around him, with a chance of randomly pulling a person. It's pretty high up in the wrecka tree, almost at the moral 4 skill.

Is there a side door pick lock ability? I imagine orcs aren't that precise of workers, but it would be cool to sneak in a Keep

Yep. All melee DPS have a way to get in through enemy postern doors. For Choppas, it's Bypass Defenses

Really? How so? I've only seen one level 30+ Choppa out in RvR.

I know for sure of 2 lvl 40 choppas... (as of last night). Both had crap gear on/all green no blue purple. And everytime either one was around order would just drop. I guess there AOE MDPS is as bad as orderfanboys have been crying... either way Im going to be sticking next to choppas like glue for a bit.

Well at least they are in sight and in range while they're hitting you with their AoE damage, unlike some panzee classes I could mention.

Anyone going with a 2-hander on their Choppa? I was thinking of switching from dual-wield. Any comments?

I have recently switched to the Big Hitta line and am using a Great Weapon though it is not a 2 hander. I am liking this a bit more then the wrecka line. I need to find a good 2 hander.

Er... whats the difference. A Great Weapon is a two-hander. You cant put anything into your other hand while you have it equipped, right?

Yes, just the one I am using is not being held with 2 hands. It is like a large axe in my right hand. I am hoping more for something that *looks* like a 2 hander.

playing both the Slayer and Choppa I have found that both of them parry more with dual-wield vs a 2H. The Choppa is a beast, I pretty much camped the Order spawn at 11 in Ekrund, dual-wield, 50 team kills and 28 solo kills with 19 deathblows.

Yes. I saw a post over the weekend which said that dual-wield gets a flat parry bonus. I believe it was +5%.

10%, unless it was changed recently
