About Shadowclan

For the past hundred years the clans have consisted of rebel tribes of kobolds and trolls that ambushed and defied the Norse and Dwarven armies that have horned in on our lands. Only recently with the invasion from the Hibernian and Albionian realms have we dropped our continual struggle against those nations, but only against a larger evil. We still don't like pinkfaces and stunties; we have suffered too many indignities to ever take orders from one. They are lucky that we don't attack them on sight.

The legendary troll and kobold tribes of Shadowclan unite again, going forth into battle to fight the new enemies. They march forward under the banner of the battering ram, a symbol of conquest and of cooperation. Blue is the skin of the kobold, and grey is the Troll made of stone.

Shadowclan is known for:
Having fun - Key to being a Shadowclan member is having fun at what you are doing, without ruining the fun of others.

Roleplay - Shadowclan members are required to be in-character at all times while in-game. Check out the language section for more info on this. The only exception is "/send" which is optionally out-of-character as needed.

Respect - Respecting other players as players. While we may tease or disdain norsemen and dwarves in-game, it is all in-character and in good humor.

Community & cooperativity - Nothing is more important to Shadowclan members than the Shadowclan community itself. Cooperation is encouraged and items are shared freely amoung Shadowclan members.

Quality - We spend a good deal of effort training our new members in the Shadowclan ways, and have expectations for them to meet (see above themes).

Open Membership - Anyone is free to make a new troll, kobold or valkyn and join Shadowclan at any time. We want you to join at as low level as possible so your character can grow and develop as part of Shadowclan. However, you can not join if you already have a last name. See the lastname section for more info on that.

Member from birth, member for life - You join Shadowclan as a "Runt", which means you are checking out Shadowclan and Shadowclan is checking out you. When you are ready to commit to Shadowclan, you are promoted to "Gruntee". As a symbol of this commitment, you will take a Shadowclan-approved lastname for your character. After you have made this commitment, we expect your character to stay in Shadowclan. Traitors are treated very poorly. If you are unwilling to make a commitment to Shadowclan, you may remain a "Runt".

Conflict - We fight to defend Midgard! Realm warfare is a fundamental aspect of Shadowclan.

Game Friendly - Our storyline and background blend in with game's storyline and background to the highest degree possible. We won't force other players to break character in order to match our own roleplay style. We follow the rules of the game. No cheating, bug exploiting, illegal 3rd party programs, or other violations of the game's Terms of Service are ever allowed.
